Professional Experience
In 2022, I completed a hybrid internship at the Oriel Co., a female-run entertainment PR agency in New York City. My work consisted of crafting press releases and electronic press kits for emerging artists and industry leaders along with conducting daily monitoring of press clips and social media for a diverse client roster of hip-hop and R&B musicians and corporate accounts. Given the confidential nature of these assignments, every intern created a mock press plan (featured below) to be presented to agency leadership and displayed in our portfolios, exemplifying the technical and creative skills gained over the summer.

During the summer of 2021, I had the amazing opportunity to work with the booking team at Good Morning America as a remote production intern. Throughout this experience, I assisted with dozens of segments in breaking news, entertainment, and lifestyle for shows including Good Morning America (weekday and weekend), GMA3, and ABC News Live. Below are the highlights of my internship, ranging from pre-taped pieces, live interviews, and the rare chance to work in person during COVID.

NIKI Mock Press Plan
To close my 12 week internship at the Oriel Co., I created a mock press plan for NIKI, an Indonesian R&B artist looking to redefine herself as a singer-songwriter, in coordination with her upcoming album release and North American tour. My press plan proposal includes a list of objectives and strategies for the campaign, media outlets and specific recurring segments for pitches, a three-month execution timeline, an example email pitch for local tour coverage, and a press release for a tour kick-off event. National Intern Day
To celebrate Nation Intern Day, we interns were surprised with the chance to work in-studio together on a segment exploring our virtual internship experience. As a team, we taped B-roll, vlogged our day-to-day tasks, drafted a script, ordered graphics, and appeared live on the show with anchors Robin Roberts and Michael Strahan.
‘The Lion King’ Performance
I also worked in-person helping coordinate some pre-taped elements of this performance of ‘The Circle of Life’ which aired in September to welcome Broadway back post-COVID. This shoot taught me valuable skills including location scouting, crowd control, and shot framing while interfacing with outside talent and their team. Happily, I was also able to put some of my PR skills to use by helping the Disney on Broadway team create video and photo content for their social media pages.
Surfside Building Collapse
In the early morning of Thursday, June 24, 2021, a condominium building collapsed in Surfside, Florida killing 98 residents. In the hours, days, and weeks that followed, I worked as part of the ABC News team to compile information on each of the victims, survivors, and their families for historical records and as potential interview subjects. This assignment stretched my research abilities as I combed through thousands of social media posts and other news outlets, all while in constant communication with the members of our booking team who flew to Florida. Hearing of this tragedy was extremely distressing and required me to balance my professionalism as a journalist while remaining empathetic during preinterviews and contact with those affected, hopefully assisting in their healing process. Here is a link to an ABCNews article listing the victims which credits me as a contributor.
ABC News Live Pride Special
To celebrate Pride Month, ABC News Live created a special broadcast in which they wanted to highlight a particular phenomenon within the LGBTQ+ community: using TikTok as a dating app. For this live event, I booked influencers Avery Blanchard and Soph Mosca, who have a combined TikTok following of over 8 million users, and prepared them to speak about their relationship for a preinterview with the producers. I identified them as perfect guests for this opportunity due to their ability to speak as experts on the subject and their prominence within the LGBTQ+ community, the latter of which also assisted the special in gaining more views. Minivan Comeback
My typical assignments required me to identify and book interview subjects to illustrate the real-life application of various lifestyle stories. In this piece, GMA focused on the rise of minivan sales this past summer and why so many families could use one. I found this mom and her family online sharing how much they were enjoying their new vehicle and conducted a preinterview with them before their pre-taped segment was shot. I also collected photos and videos directly from them and their social pages to use as B-roll.
